  • Database Variances?

I went live on 3.0 Gold and have upgraded through 3.0.7

In preparation for the 3.5 upgrade, I tossed my database schema and the default 3.0.7 schema into Araxis Merge and came up with a few things that I need some help on.

Mostly was field length and char/varchar changes, but these stood out and I don't want to make any changes to my database without checking with you all on them:

    access table
    Was: KEY `userid` (`userid`,`forumid`)
    Now: PRIMARY KEY (`userid`,`forumid`)

    session table
    Was: `althash` varchar(32) NOT NULL default '',
    Now: Can delete?

    thread
    Was: KEY `postuserid_2` (`postuserid`),
    Now: Can delete?

    usergroup
Was: `maxforwardpm` smallint(6) unsigned NOT NULL default '5',
Now: `pmforwardmax` smallint(5) unsigned NOT NULL default '5',

    usergroup
    Was: KEY `showgroup` (`genericoptions`)
    Now: Can delete?

    Help?

Why don't you just run upgrade.php from 3.5 beta 2 and let the script handle the changes?

Because there are 59 other type and field length changes that didn't update from Gold to .7 and will need to be done manually. There are a host more when comparing my live .7 to its test counterpart which was upgaded to 3.5 Beta2.

I have never compared the schemas before (and I started on vB2!)

Biggest concern is that this stuff isn't being updated by the scripts -- especially confused about the field name change in the usergroup table.

        Just checked.

Upgrading vB 3.0.7 to vB 3.5 Beta2 did not resolve the issue with the field name discrepancy in the usergroup table.

        My upgraded vB 3.5:
        maxforwardpm
        smallint(6)

        Clean install of vB 3.5:
        pmforwardmax
        smallint(5)

I've posted about this in the staff forum, hopefully they can take a look at this.
