  • Different alignment in the same table?

    Is it possible to align some images or text to the left of a table and then some on the right while keeping them on the same line?
    Everytime I try they appear on different lines.
    Any help much appreciated.

        Apologies for the delay.

        Yes, in XHTML/CSS you can have images on the right, middle, left of a table,div,etc.

        Or do you mean inside a post?

          Thanks for the reply Floris. If you have a look at this thread from my site: http://www.doctor-who-online.co.uk/f...read.php?t=116 you will see that the message and message icon are to the right of the avatar.
          What I am trying to do is get the box around the title to go all the way to the right (without pushing the 'Location' and other user info out of place on the right) and have the date the message was posted at the far right of that box on the same line as the title. I would also like it aligned with the bottom of the avatar (if you look, it is slightly above).
          Also, at the bottom, I want the online/offline status on the far left of the line instead of next to the quote, edit options etc (which are on the right).
          Hope that makes sense!

            Your template is modified and I don't know the code, so it will be a complex and inaccurate guess to resolve this for you. Having the title go all the way to the right requires a revamp of the table setup.

                I forgot to add that if it is easier, I can revert my postbit to the original, make the major changes and then play around with the look and feel.
                Basically, if I could sort out the alignment at the bottom with some icons on the left and others on the right, and know how to add the box with title and date on the same line as the base of the avatar, I could probably figure the rest out for myself.
                Thanks

                    Well after working for hours, I have got it more or less how I want (http://www.doctor-who-online.co.uk/f...read.php?t=268). The only problem is, when viewing in Internet Explorer there is sometimes a space to the right of the avatar (of differing length and does not happen in Firefox) and I cannot get the date to stick to the right hand side of thread title line without it going on multiple lines or appearing half way along the line. Can anyone tell me where Im going wrong with my postbit and help me tidy it up. Thanks
                    Edit: I have fixed the avatar problem but cant sort out the date on the same line. I have attached the code which seems to be the relevent bit
                    Code:

                    <a name="post$post[postid]"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/post_$post[statusicon].gif" alt="$post[statustitle]" border="0" /></a>
                       <if condition="!$show['announcement']">
                    	$post[postdate]<if condition="!$show['detailedtime']">, $post[posttime]</if>
                       <else />
                    	<phrase 1="$post[startdate]" 2="$post[enddate]">$vbphrase[x_until_y]</phrase>
                       </if>
                       $post[firstnewinsert]
                       <!-- / status icon and date -->
                      </div>
                    	</div>

                       </td>
                      </tr>
                      </table>
                      <!-- / user info -->
                     </td>
                    </tr>
                    <tr>
                    <!--change-->
