  • "New Posts" Quickly Disappearing

Hi everyone. I am having a two problems on my forums with "new posts." Please refer to the following thread my members have made for details. Can anyone provide some insight or something I can try to do in order to alleviate this issue?

      Hi Floris,

Thank you for responding. The cookie timeout in my ACP is currently set at 60 seconds. Should I make an adjustment?

      Thanks,

      Prod

Absolutely! Change it back to no less than the default 900 seconds.

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

Thanks for your response as well Steve. Just to be certain, I am in the following area in the ACP:

          Time-Out for Cookie
This is the time in seconds that a user must remain inactive before any unread posts are marked read. This setting also controls how long a user will remain on Who's Online after their last activity.

Is this the correct area? Also, should I just set it back to 900 seconds, or do you have perhaps another recommendation?

            Yes, that's the correct setting.

Please realize that 60 seconds means that a user is only online for a minute. If a user is not active within 60 seconds he/she gets removed from the online sessions. This includes the new posts since that session, users showing online, etc .. users will complain about typing a thread and posting it .. then getting the message they are logged out, etc ..
