  • restrictions in vbulletin based on reputation

anyone can give me pointers on how to implement restrictions in vbulletin based on the vbulletin reputation system. e.g. if a member of the forum has negative reputation points (less than 0), he cannot create new threads

is this a standard feature? if not, is a hack available? i'm using vbulletin version 3.

any help at all is appreciated. thanks!!!

This can be done with a group promotion that is based on reputation.

Create a new usergroup that does not have permission to post:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Add New Usergroup

Then create a promotion in your:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Promotions -> Add New Promotion

Usergroup = the original group that can post
Reputation Comparison Type = Less Than
    Reputation Level = 0
    Promotion Strategy = Reputation
    Promotion Type = Primary Usergroup
Move User to Usergroup = the new group you just setup

Now members of the original group will be demoted when they reach a reputation level less than 0.
