  • Profile pictures problem

    Hello,

I recently moved our forum to a different server and I am having problems with the profile pictures. All profile pictures appear scrambled.

I suspect the problem was caused during import to a database with the wrong character set settings, but I am not sure how to fix the problem.

The mysql I am using now (4.1.11) has the following character set settings:

    Code:

    mysql> show variables like '%char%';
    +--------------------------+-----------------------------------------+
    | Variable_name | Value |
    +--------------------------+-----------------------------------------+
    | character_set_client | latin1 |
    | character_set_connection | latin1 |
    | character_set_database | latin1 |
    | character_set_results	| latin1 |
    | character_set_server | latin1 |
    | character_set_system | utf8 |
    | character_sets_dir | /opt/mysql-4.1.11/share/mysql/charsets/ |
    +--------------------------+-----------------------------------------+
7 rows in set (0.00 sec)
However during import, I think the server and database settings were utf8.

Trying to upload a new profile picture works fine now, it is just the old ones that are scrambled.

Is there a way to fix our profile pictures?

Also, would vBulletin work with utf8 encoding at server, and database levels? What would I have to do to make this work? (export, change settings, import)?

    Thanks,
    Michael
