DB Keeps On Reverting...

The Database for my forum keeps on reverting back and forth between an old one and my new one... I have no idea where's it's getting the old database but it reverts back to it and it comes back to the current database.


Can anyone help me?

What's the URL? What I suspect is that it only seems that way, but in fact it's doing something else.

Do both the old and new databases exist? How often do they switch back and forth?

Sounds like your DNS is stuck between the new server and the old sever, rather than a database issue.

That could be it because we recently moved to a new server...

How do I fix this?

What $servername setting do you have in config.php?

Then there is no way this could be trying to connect to your old server. Please explain exactly what is happening.

However since the db is using 'localhost' I don't know how that could be.

If his domain is resolving between the two servers. the one prior to the move, and the one after, he himself is expircing a mis match catching issue.

sometimes the domain he is accessing the server located at 1.2.3.4 according to the cached dns, and others he is getting 2.3.4.5

its not related to the database at all really.

If that's the case, then all he has to do is put a redirect on the old server to the new IP.

The old server is dead, there's no way to access it through HTTP, only SSH...

If it's not accessible via HTTP then you would not be seeing the 'March' database.
