  • Can't Install ... :(

I cant seem to install vb on my new dedicated server. It is running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with IIS6.0 and Plesk control panel.

I've been searching for a few hours trying this and that to get it working with no avail.

http://www.warpedvision.com is my URL and my phpinfo is http://www.warpedvision.com/phpinfo.php

When loading the install page, I get this message ...

Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\warpedvision.com\httpdocs\install\install.php on line 17

Warning: main(./install/installcore.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\warpedvision.com\httpdocs\install\install.php on line 69

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './install/installcore.php' (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\warpedvision.com\httpdocs\install\install.php on line 69

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is a problem on some Windows server that cannot correctly recognize the root web folder via PHP. You can solve this by installing vB in a subdirectory.

Believe me, this issue caused me a lot of headaches trying to help customers having this problem before I finally learned what the issue was.

Well, I tried making it a subfolder, but that did not work. Still gettin gthe same error.

I have the exact same specs as the post above.

Any other ideas? Here is the exact error:

Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\forum.frunder.com\httpdocs\vb\install\install.php on line 17

Warning: main(install/installcore.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\forum.frunder.com\httpdocs\vb\install\install.php on line 69

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'install/installcore.php' (include_path='.;./includes;./pear') in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\forum.frunder.com\httpdocs\vb\install\install.php on line 69

            Thanks in advance!

You are using a subdomain and a subdirectory. Drop the subdomain.

why do I have to drop the subdomain? If I have to drop it to get it to work, fine, but I would prefer a subdomain.

                Thanks!

I recommend doing this because it's not working. Some Windows systems have trouble dealing with subdomains and chdir () functions.

Jerry is handling your ticket since he is the only one familiar enough with this import script to help. Also he does not work 7 days a week, so I'm afriad you will need to be patient. Sorry for the inconvenience.

P.S. NEVER post a link to your support tickets publicly. These tickets often contain confidential info you do not want to share.
