Im looking in my admin section for the proper code which pulls up the LAST POSTED thread info to my INDEX.PHP page for my boards

For example if you go here http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/index.php?
youll see one of the columns is called
Last Post

and in that first cell section is shows

When someone else posts in that vBulletin Announcements section
some other thread with corresponding link will show up.

Where can i find the code that pulls this info and places it there?

It's complicated. The forum table has fields that cache last post information. Then the forum information is cached in the datastore table. Then that information is queried and used in the context of the forumhome_lastpostby template.
