Forced User Registration / Login

My buddy has a forum and before you can even see any of the Forums or posts or anything it Requires a Log in, and if you dont have a log in it requires you to register. And sometime all the forums say 'Never' for the posts.

How do you do this?
And if you dont know what im talking about the forum where this happens is,

if you click there, it automatically brings up a v bulletin message asking you to either register or log in. How do you get it to do that?

Ya, they have to be logge din before they see anything. and if they arnt registerd they HAVE to register.

Ok, then you go to Usergroups-->Usergroup Manager-->Edit Usergroup for each usergroup that you don't want to see anything unless they are logged in. Go down to "Forum Viewing permissions" and make sure "can view forum" and everything below that is checked "no".
