  • vB Newb Needing Help with logo removal

    Hello, I'm a vb newb so please bear with me...

    I have followed the instructions to remove the vB logo at the top of the forums - but when I delete everything from that header box, it causes my forum page to be way too wide and it loses the other elements I wanted to keep.

    The code for the header is here:
    Code:
    <!-- logo -->
    <a name="top"></a>
    <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
    <tr>
    <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
    <td align="$stylevar[right]">
    &nbsp;
    <!--
    NEW HEADER &amp; NAVBAR

    Now that the nav buttons are in the
    navbar template, you can stick whatever
    you like into this space.
    This makes it much easier for novice
    admins to customize their header
    template without affecting important
    navigation elements.
    -->
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- /logo -->
    <!-- content table -->
    $spacer_open
    $_phpinclude_output
    If I want to keep everything but the reference to the picture itself, how do I do that?

    Depending on exactly what you want to do, you should only need to delete this section:

    <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>

      I'm just wanting to get rid of the logo, not the entire heading coding itself. Every time I modify the header - even deleting what you just showed - I end up with my forums changing width and everything - like it's ignoring the css style I have it conforming to for my site.

        Removing the section of code I provided worked perfectly fine for me. Not sure why it's causing that problem for you.

          Erm. Probably because I'm a moron. I just tried it again and got it to work.

          Sorry for the trouble.
