Because of this problem, I changed the name of Super Moderator to Moderator and did away with the regular moderator, so that all mods could edit posts in all forums.

only if you asign them to a forum
Moderators are not moderators just because they are in the "Moderator" usergroup.
A moderator does not become a moderator untill they are assigned to a forum.
AdminCP > Forums & Moderators > Forum Manager > Add a Moderator
Now supermods are another story, they are like administrators, and you cannot restrict their permissions

Moderators -> Editing Posts
One of my mods on my site asked why he can't edit anyone else's posts, and looking into that usergroup, there's no setting to edit posts ... only own posts and that's selected.
Do Mods have the rights to edit other than their own posts, and if so are there any settings associated with it?
Thanks,
