  • old database

    ok...i have just loaded a new VB with everything set.

    my friend has given his old mySQL database with the different sub forums.

    if i upload this via phpadmin........will it override my admin pass/login? etc etc ??

    i hope i am clear

    Yes, it will (must) override all tables that are currently in your new database, so also your admin user records will be overwritten.

      where would go then to reset admincp pass/user name???

        In the vB download, there was a do_not_upload folder. In this folder find tools.php and upload it to the admincp directory. Access this page with your browser and choose "Reset Admin Access", choose the appropriate username, and hit submit. Be sure to delete this file as soon as you make yourself admin because anyone can access this script. Then, edit includes/config.php to set your userid to be superadmin so that you can set admin permissions.

          i inserted the text:

          now i have 9182 member in 25 pages ...all with 0 posts, no user ID or email.

          all "joined" in 12-31-1969

          last activity 12-31-1969


          what happen? how can i solve this one?

          by the way the admin pass/login still works!
