    You could move your forums, but that would break old links and you would need a redirect for them. If you run on a server with apache and can override file types, uploading the contents of the attached zip to the HTML root after you move your forums will cause all links to /forum/* to redirect to /*
    Attached Files

    shame.. I thought there might be a way to copy the index.php into the root folder, thus avoiding the need for a re-direct.

    I have a script that I wrote that uses four different methods to redirect:
    1. 303 Redirect--Send a 303 header(I think it's just "303 Redirect"), followed by "Location:newurlhere"
    2. Meta redirect--the HTTP standard wants you to have a page to redirect the user incase the browser does not want to automaticly, so we are outputting a simple page with a meta redirect in the head
    3. JS redirect--
      Code:
      <script language="javascript"><!--
      window.location="newurlhere";
      //--></script>
    4. Good old fassioned "Click here for the forums" message

    In the majority of cases, the 303 should redirect them, but I like being thorough.

    auto re-direct to /forum/index.php

    Hi there,

    This should be a simple request that is driving me nuts!

    My forums are located at www.thedrunk.com/forum/index.php

    however I want them to load when someone goes to www.thedrunk.com

    Currently I've set up a META tag re-direct but I'm sure there's a better way.

    Thanks,

    Andrew.
