  • Hiding all forums except one within a category

I have a category called "Members", which contains three forums. I want only one of those forums to be visible to registered users who have not become a full member. The remaining two I want to be not visible until they join. Like this:

    MEMBERS (Category)
    - Join (Forum - visible to non-members)
    - Discussion (Forum - invisible to non-members)
    - Strategy (Forum - invisible to non-members)

I tried some different settings but either the whole category is invisible to non-members, or everything is visible (though Discussion and Strategy are not viewable). I don't want Discussion and Strategy visible to non-members at all.

Am I trying to do what cannot be done?

You can set permissions for specific forums / groups in your:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions

Deny access to the private forums for guests, and allow access for registered users.

Edit the permission for "Unregistered / Not Logged In" group for the specific forums you want to be invisible, set "Can View Forum" to No.

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
