  • Post not showing up?

    Hi Guys!

Got a slight problem, wondering if anyone else has had this? I've got a usergroup for special people who can post in my "upcoming events" forum, they have the ability to create threads etc, and normal members dont. Member just have the ability to view and reply to a thread, no start one. The problem I'm having is weird, everything seems to be working right, except the posts don't appear. I get the notification email saying that there has been a post, but when I click on the link to see the post, only the original post is there, this is happens when members reply, admins seem to be exempt?! Any ideas, I hope it's just a setting somewhere

Check ALL the usergroup permissions for that forum. One of the usergroups they are in IS set to moderate posts.

In my case, permissions are OK

      Hi,

I've been having the same sort of thing happen for our visitors, but only intermittently. Two particular effects:

      1. Member posts thread - as admin I get the e-mailed notification, I visit the thread using the link in the message, and thread is not there. This is in a forum that is top level, has default permissions which allow all members to post, view etc. Looking at the database, the visible bit in the post table for the message is set to 0 - of course, editing this to 1 makes the post visible again. This happens only now and then, but I wonder how many posts people have dropped that have just disappeared . . .

      2. The other phenomena is, a member drops a thread, I receive notification, visit the thread, and it's there, but when I reply to it via the quick reply window and hit post reply, I get an "invalid thread specified" message. Going up a level to the thread view, the thread is not visible. That's the first time: subsequent attempts to revisit the thread give me the invalid thread message straight away. Again, this is in a top level forum with no specialised inherited permissions. Looking at the post table in MySQL shows that the visible flag is set to 1, so now I'm really scratching my head.

Any ideas? Maybe a complete reinstall?

        Andor,

Please start your own thread. You have different issues. Thanks.
