    searched but couldn't find a relevent ans to my query.

    When reading a thread, the page number is at the botton, I'd like it on top of the thread too. We've edited the design template and couldn't find the page numbers template now.

    Pls help, thanks!

    It is already like that in the default templates.

      hmm but I see the page number links on top here at VB forums so I believe we must have accidentally removed our page number link.

      Or if VB has modified their board to place the page links on top, can anyone share with me which design template to edit so to place the page number link on top.

      thanks!

        Which thread view option are you using? Linear, threaded, or hybrid? The page numbers don't show up at all on threaded mode. Try using linear mode.

        If you still aren't getting page numbers, then try creating a new default style. I suspect this might be a problem with your custom style.

          thanks Jake, I'm using linear.

          To edit the forums design template is it under > style & template > style manager > forums display template > FORUMDISPLAY

          Can I find the page number link here?

          Thanks!

            In the FORUMDISPLAY template, the pagenav section is represented by the red code:

            Code:
            <!-- controls above thread list -->
            <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" style="margin-bottom:3px">
            <tr valign="bottom">
            	<td class="smallfont"><if condition="$show['newthreadlink']"><a href="newthread.php?$session[sessionurl]do=newthread&amp;f=$foruminfo[forumid]"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/newthread.gif" alt="$vbphrase[post_new_thread]" border="0" /></a><else />&nbsp;</if></td>
            	<if condition="$pagenav"><td align="$stylevar[right]">$pagenav</td></if>
            </tr>
            </table>
            <!-- / controls above thread list -->

              thanks Jake!

              but I realised this is for forums forum. I'm looking for the design template for the thread page where we are reading the posts of a thread. would you know which template it is?

              is it > Threadbit Templates or SHOWTHREAD?

                I'm rather proud of myself cos I know nothing on coding or html and I managed to find it and did some editing to finally put up the page link on top and as well as the reply button!

                But I need help on alignment! see attached, the page link is squeezed together with post reply button, what do I add to the code so the page links are on the right?

                Many thanks!!!

                Code:
                <!-- toolbar -->
                <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center" style="border-bottom-width:0px">
                <tr>
                <a href="newreply.php?$session[sessionurl]do=newreply&amp;noquote=1&amp;p=$LASTPOSTID"><if condition="$show['closethread']"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/reply.gif" alt="$vbphrase[reply]" border="0" /><else /><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/threadclosed.gif" alt="$vbphrase[closed_thread]" border="0" /></if></a>
                <if condition="$show['pagenav']"><td align="$stylevar[right]">$pagenav</td></if>
                <td class="tcat" width="100%">
                <div class="smallfont">
                <if condition="$show['firstunreadlink']">
                <a href="$firstunread"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/firstnew.gif" alt="$vbphrase[view_first_unread]" border="0" /></a>

                  It doesn't do that in the default style. I am guessing you changed the alignment in the pagenav template or some other related template.

                    I've another question on page numbers, how do I reduce the page number and show less example: Page 1, 2, 3 only and the rest as >

                    I tried adminCP > VB options > Multi-Page Thread Maximum Links > 3

                    but this doesn't work, did I get it wrong?

                      Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> General Settings -> Number of Pages Visible in Page Navigator

                        thanks Jake, sorted that.

                        I'd appreciate any help for the alignment issue, I'm not good with html coding.

                        I just cannot understand why the page link is in the centre, see attached:

                        Code:
                        <!-- toolbar -->
                        <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center" style="border-bottom-width:0px">

                        </tr>
                        <if condition="$show['pagenav']"><td align="$stylevar[right]">$pagenav</td></if>
                        <tr>
                        <td class="tcat" width="100%">
                        <div class="smallfont">
                        <if condition="$show['firstunreadlink']">
                        <a href="$firstunread"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/firstnew.gif" alt="$vbphrase[view_first_unread]" border="0" /></a>
                        <a href="$firstunread"><strong>$vbphrase[view_first_unread]</strong></a>

                          Try reverting the SHOWTHREAD and pagenav templates.

                            thanks again Jake!

                            using the reverted templates, this is the best I can get... the Tool Thread box is pulled out of shape by the page links.

                            Code:
                            <!-- toolbar -->
                            <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center" style="border-bottom-width:0px">

                              It doesn't look like you are using the default template. In the default template, the pagenav and Thread Tools menu are in different tables. One should not affect the other.
