Threadreview and IE 5.5

No one has ever experienced this before but us? Can any of the vbTeam tell me what issues in IE5.5 they're sniffing to get around? That might give me a clue. When the code served to IE 6 is saved and opened in 5.5, it displays fine. the issue here seems to be the different code being served to 5.5.

Sorry, won't do that again. No, it's not valid XHTML. But then neither do the pages that do not exhibit this problem. Basically I need to know what quirks in IE 5.5 are being sniffed to get around. I know where the sniffing is done, but I don't know what else will break should I comment it out. I could try changing the doctype, but then some of the coding inherent to VB3 which IS XHTML, will cause that doctype to not validate either.

I have an issue on http://discussions.virtualdr.com/index.php?? with threadreview. In IE5.5 the threadreview doesn't show below the reply window. Yet on other sites running the same version, it does. Now I notice you test for version and serve slightly different HTML to 5.5. Can you give me a clue why that is? Which quirks of 5.5 are you trying to get around?

If I comment out the browser sniffer, will that break something else?
