  • Lots of problems, High server loads

Well its 4AM, so here is a quick rundown until tomorrow

A site that i help run ( has been acting very strange lately... over the past week the load times have been slowly going up, no biggie we figure(20+, then it will die out)

As of 3 days ago, the server just died on us, looking at the logs, suffered the Out of memory error... We thought it may have been a hacker (quite a few enemies), however our host, looked into it, as did we, no dice.

Yesterday we go them to set up a diff server for us, where we moved our info to (just 1 site to test, the ps2nfo one) We have around 50k active members, usually around 500 online at any time, which was never a problem.

Well, same probs today, server load goes nuts, keeps going high (even @ 4am), and then just dies out. Got all the latest patches installed (the 3.0.7 patches, tho its 3.0.6, gonna upgrade in the am to see), got latest php + sql in, really boggling our minds!

Thought it was software, but from old server to new, we upgraded sql, kernel etc...

It looks like the SQL server dies, Im usually awoken to about 4000 emails from the site, error 0 of coruse, need to call the datacenter to have them physically reboot the server! (zero access)

    Server (Dedicated):
    AMD 2200XP
    1GB ram
    80GB HDD,
    PHP 4.3.10,
    MySQL 4.1.10a, now.

We would like to get this resolved ASAP!

I suggest that you start with installing a fresh official vBulletin version instead of the Nullified version you seem to be running now.

This could be the cause of your problems and you can not get official support for unofficial software.

You can download a fresh copy of vBulletin from your member area.
