  • Altering the post-icon key

    The icon key/definitions at the bottom of the main page are stacked vertically by default (Icon - forum contains new posts, Icon - forum contains no new posts, Icon - forum is locked) Going into the code which is still a little like to Chinese to me, it seems these are laid out in a table.

    How do I alter this so the icons and their definitions present themselves horizontally?

    It would look something like this...

    - New Posts - No New Posts - Locked!

        You might check out one of the FOOTER templates.

          Its stored in the forumhome template, and uses the icons that are

          forum_on
          froum_off
          forum_lock
          forum_on_lock
          forum_off_lock

            Sorry, yes that's where I am. It's just that I'm at a loss as to how to alter the following code without messing everything up.

            <!-- icons and login code -->
            <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" border="0" width="100%">
            <tr valign="bottom">
            <td>
            <table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0">
            <tr>
            <td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_new.gif" alt="$vbphrase[contains_new_posts]" border="0" /></td>
            <td class="smallfont">&nbsp; $vbphrase[forum_contains_new_posts]</td>
            </tr>
            <tr>
            <td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_old.gif" alt="$vbphrase[contains_no_new_posts]" border="0" /></td>
            <td class="smallfont">&nbsp; $vbphrase[forum_contains_no_new_posts]</td>
            </tr>
            <tr>
            <td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/forum_old_lock.gif" alt="$vbphrase[a_closed_forum]" border="0" /></td>
            <td class="smallfont">&nbsp; $vbphrase[forum_is_closed_for_posting]</td>
            </tr>
            </table>
            </td>
            <if condition="!$show['guest']">
            <!-- member logout -->
            <td align="$stylevar[right]"><a href="login.php?$session[sessionurl]do=logout&amp;u=$bbuserinfo[userid]" onclick="return log_out()"><phrase 1="$bbuserinfo[username]">$vbphrase[log_out_x]</phrase></a></td>
            <!-- end member logout -->
            </if>
            </tr>
            </table>

                Thanks, Dennis. I'll have a go at altering. I'm not even a week into using PHP so it's been a "back to square one" experience - Cheers and thanks for your patience.
