  • Using RSS

    Hello everybody,

    I saw the RSS feature on other vBulletin sites, and i think it is smart.
    I'd go to the vBulletin options, and said yes to 'Enable RSS Syndication'.
    But how does i do so i can use it in Firefox? (Like at vBulletin.nl... Also see attachment)

    I searched some places, but i didnt find an answar.

    Regards,

    Challenge.

    In headinclude template. Under

    HTML Code:
    <meta name="description" content="$vboptions[description]" />
    put this :

    HTML Code:
    <link rel="alternate" type="application/xml" title="title you want (RSS)" href="external.php?type=rss" />

    You can put as many link rel as you want

    Maybe Jelsoft could include that in conditional templates when syndication is activated.

        I was just wondering if anyone other then the website creators themselves use the RSS? Through surveys at various sites..i have found that very few people actually use the RSS service [who know about it].

          hmm, I've added the line of code to my headinclude template and turned on the RSS under external data provider but still no luck.

          Am I missing something?

                In fact as of January, 92.7% of users used IE.

                  noppid, I hope you realize I was joking.

                  Interestingly, on my site approximately 20% use Firefox, however, we have a lot of techies and early adopters.
