  • I need a simle SQL query.

What query should I used to turn off subscriptions to all users that have AOL email addresses?

    Please and thank you.

You should globally set everyone to No Email Notification, and then announce to all members to take a second, make sure their email is working, and then edit their subscriptions in their control panel.

this would of course not effect their current thread subscriptions.

You can execute this under the same place in the Admin CP where you would run SQL queries. it's in the drop down menu.

yeah... just I realize users sometimes do not return but when they get a notice they jump back on.

I guess I better do it the standard way.
      again thank you.

Try (not tested!!!!) the following query:
          Code:
          UPDATE user SET autosubscribe = -1 WHERE email LIKE '@aol.com' ;
This will turn their default to No subsciption.

            Seems like it worked!

how can I do this for turning off send notification email for private message
            and accpet admin messages?

            Thank you.

            Code:

            UPDATE myvb3_user SET options = options - 4096 WHERE options & 4096 AND WHERE email LIKE '@aol.com'
            this gave me an error

You have two where clauses and you have no wildcards in your like pattern. Try
              WHERE (options&4096)AND(email LIKE "%@aol.com")
              as your where clause.

To do 2 your requests, you have to execute 2 query because update statement only affects only in one table.

Turn off receive email when receive PM
                Code:
                 UPDATE user SET options = options - 4096 WHERE options & 4096
Turn all receive email from Admin
                Code:
UPDATE user SET options = options + 16 WHERE NOT (options & 16)
