If the database is now using numbers that high you wll need to take some time to do some manual repair. Its not an easy process...

Any thoughts on this? Or is the only help suggestion to upgrade, which I'm fairly certain won't work since I'm assuming there is a problem with the database not the vbulletin code.

    I know.

For any reason have you manually added a user?
I had not manually added anyone into the database ever. I did use the back end to add a user or two a long while back, but nothing lately. Once it went fubar, I did the following:

I checked the user, userfield & usertextfield tables and found that a row was missing from the userfield table. I created a row in that table with the missing userID. I have also deleted the fubar rows from the 3 tables several times. Would it help to backup the tables in question, dump/drop them and then recreate them?

Are you running any out of date versions of php?
    PHP version 4.3.10
    MySQL version 4.0.24-standard-log

Not much done as far as hacking on my site. Can't remember anything that I've changed.

I would love to upgrade to 3.0.7, but I doubt that would fix it, since I'm guessing there is a problem with my database, not the vbulletin code.

I think it's trying to add userid=-1, and this is the result. Any idea what could be causing this?

Your first thing should be to upgrade vBulletin to 3.0.7

    Strange database problem: userid=4294967295

I'm getting a strange message when new users try register. Notice the userid. I only have a little over 7000 users, but it assigned a userid of 4294967295. I did some looking around in the database and the numbers for the user, userfield and userfieldtext did not match. Somewhere along the line one of the rows in the userfield table got deleted.

I tried to add a row in that table to replace the one that was missing (with the correct userid). But when I tested the registration process it once again added a user with id 4294967295. In the other two tables it added a row with id=0. Any idea what is going on and how to fix this?
