Ban a User?

I get this error message "Invalid Usergroup Specified" but in the drop down menu there is nothing?

Also, if I add their IP address, how do they sign up again? I thought they would need to use a different P.C. cand they change their IP?

They don't necessarily have to get on a new computer. Many people have dynamic connections where they can get a new IP by disconnecting and redialing. IP bans are never 100% effective.

In Admin CP, I went to Search The user I wanted to ban, then in User Manager, I went to Quick User Links, and went to ban user...

This is the error message I got...

In the User Banning Window

I go to perm ban options and it give me an error.


The administrator has not specified any groups that contain banned users.

Please do so using the usergroup editor.



The second error was

You have not specifired any user groups?

Your banned group needs to have this option enabled:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> This Usergroup is a 'Banned' Group

Are any email functions working? If so, then the subscription emails are like being marked as spam by your email client / service. Check your spam box.

There is no default Banned group, so yeah.
