Made Moderator registered member, but still mod powers?

I made a moderator back to a registered member....He is still on the staff list (in non-bold letters) can still view the staff forum, I.P addys, mod CP, and edit other peoples posts.....whats wrong?

I can't find where to edit his permissions, only the edit permissions (access masks)

Did you delete their forum assignment?

Moderators do not need to be in the moderator group to be a moderator.

AdminCP > Forums & Moderators > Forum MAnager > Select the Moderators name (from the drop down) > Delete button at the top

how about in the reverse? I know that in vers. 2.x a mod needed to be assigned to a forum to have any permissions take effect. Is this the same in 3.x?

For a user to be a moderator they must be assigned to a forum, or be a supermoderator.
