  • vBulletin Marking Message Read - An Issue

I do not like the "timeout" feature in vB that automatically marks messages/thread as "read" based on the timeout setting in the admin cp.

    This is just stupid.

I don't want vB to mark any message/thread as read unless I read the message/thread or unless I manually make them as read myself.

Unfortunately, this setting is tied to the one that removes users form the "Who's Online" list.

Can anyone tell me if is there is a workaround for this?

The system has been working that way since vBulletin 1.0.0

Anything else tends to be fairly server intensive with large boards.

We are looking at other solutions for the future.

        I manage... but thats me.

A true mark read system on a large forum of this size would be devistatning.
