  • Currently Active Users - Spider filtering!

Of recent weeks I have noticed that our forums 'Active Users' count often jumps to quite high numbers. Usually I would put this down to spiders - as this has been the case before.

However, when I view the list of 'Currently Active Users' filtered by Bots nothing is shown.

Is this because the spiders crawling our forum are not defined (recognised)?

Am i right in thinking that if they are recognised that they are filtered out from such things as the 'Currently Active Users' list and or count?

What is the best cause of action to take (if any)?

Is there something I should be doing on a regular basis?

    Regards,
    Kris...

I suggest you take a look at this post http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showp...5&postcount=12.

Basically all you have to do is download the 2 text files, then copy and paste the contents into the Spider Identification Strings and Spider Identification Description, which can be found in the vBulletin Options menu.

Once this has been done, the spiders should show up just fine
