  • "Security violation"

    Can anyone tell me what that means?

    I tried to install a hack on my forum but couldn't get the cookies to work right, so I reverted the edited php files back to their originals, but now when I goto the forum, all I get is "Security violation" on the main page?

    Gah, what did I do, heh

    I have never seen the vBulletin error 'security violation'.

    Make sure you have uninstalled the hack 100%
    Revert the templates, remove the custom pages and templates.
    Undo the custom fields and tables from the database so they are default vBulletin again.
    And make sure the files are all default vBulletin 3.0.6 again.

    If you aren't running 3.0.6 yet, upgrade, perhaps that fixes things.

      Well that's the strange thing
      The hack itself (The Images gallery one) has a file called "constants.php" which mentions on the first line ...

      if (!defined('ROOT_PATH')) {
      die("Security violation");
      }
      And yet, this file doesn't exist anymore, I deleted it
      I thought it was my cookies at first, so I cleared those, but it still shows up
      Hrm

        I will assume with main page you mean index.php from vBulletin forum software.
        Open it and search for Security violation - perhaps you didn't remove all the code yet.
        Also check global.php and init.php

          Oh i'm such a muppet
          Sorry Floris, I accidently overwrote my sessions.php file with the images gallery one
          *looks embarrassed*
          hehe
