Threads are disappearing!!!

I have version: Vb3.0.3

Within the last 9 days 3 threads has disappeared from the forum. None of them was removed by the author – including administrator (myself) who wrote two of them. Two of those had no replies – just initial post. The third had 4 replies. There is no chance of accidental delete because I have not been at admin control panel for 4 weeks, neither the author of the first one has deleted it. They seem to disappear in a sequence/order in which they were posted. If that continues then soon I’ll have a large threads disappear. It’s scary!!! Is there something in the setup that if the thread had only one post or is inactive for some number of days is automatically removed? I’ve checked the options twice, but found nothing. PLEASE HELP.

Threads do not just disappear for no reason, and there is no setting that makes them disappear after a few days (assuming you have not installed any hacks.)

How old were these threads? Have you tried changing the Thread View Age?

Thank you for your reply. I have noticed that the forum still shows the correct number of total threads and posts. However those three mentioned threads are not visible. So they are somewhere and it must be a display issue. Where is "Thread View Age" in the control panel? I can't find it.

Look at the bottom of the forumdisplay page for Display Options. Set 'From the' to 'Beginning'.

I went through the forumdisplay page and there is no such option. The last item at the bottom is "group announcements" and the first item at the top is "Show users browsing forum." Am I missing something?

What is the URL to one of the forums in which the threads are misisng?

That option is at the bottom of that page exactly as I said. By default you are only looking at threads for the 'Last month'. There were only 2 threads listed. Changing this to 'Beginning' shows 5 threads.

Thank you. I thought you were refering to the Control panel.

Where in the control panel I can set display dafault to the "Beginning" instead of "Last Month," as I have it now so that all visitors open with the "Beginning" option?

In the Forum Manager set the Default View Age to 'Show All Threads'.

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Default View Age -> Show All Threads

Or to update them all at once, run this query:

UPDATE forum SET daysprune=-1;

After running that query, update the forum counters:

Admin CP -> Import & Maintenance -> Update Counters -> Rebuild Forum Information
