Strange pause between clicking a link and page loading

I've got an installation of Vbulletin 3.0.3, running on 3 servers (two for the forums and one for MySQL and forum). Servers are running Apache and Red Hat linux. They're each a dual P4 Xeon 3.06GHz with 4 gigs of RAM and ample storage. So I don't think what I'm seeing is a performance problem....

When I click on a link to go into another forum or to read a post, the IE progress bar (on the bottom of the window, the one that fills up with green bars) fills to 100% immediately. Then I just sit there and wait on the screen for almost exactly 2 seconds, and then the new page loads almost instantly.

Is there any setting that can cause this? I haven't experienced it on any other vBulletin site I've looked at.

One thing that comes to mind is the connection between the vB servers and the MySQL one.

We just upgraded to a new version of MySQL (version 4.1.10) and we're still seeing the problem. The cache hit rate is 99.8%, and everything else seems to be running fine. We're running on one box (the combined VB and MySQL server) and there's still a 2 second latency....

Anyone have any other ideas?

We are experiencing the same thing. Images are lagging on load. We have a similar 3 box setup. We thought it was php 4.3.10 so we went to .11 and that didn't solve it. So i'd love to see what the resonse is
