I have a few members that I would like to restrict their posting to specific forums. But I want them to be able to access the forum while logged in so they can read but not post. Is this possible?

hi,
yes this is possible create a new usergroup and set the permissions as you wish to have them ...then if they try to post they get the "no permissions" screen kind of similair what happends here at vbulletin.com if we customers try to post in the announcements forum -

Well, for some reason it's not functioning correctly. I setup a new usergroup and edited the forum permissions to restrict posting to a specific forum for that usergroup but when I test it I am able to post to that forum. Any idea what could be wrong?Comment

I was posting through a test account. I think it was a secondary usergroup for the test account that was the problem. I removed that and now can't post. Thanks!!Comment
