Custom searches

(Please don't send me to vbulletin.org as it's no help).
I want to create a forum which is a digest of other forums (specifically grouping all the categorised classifieds forums together to produce a list of all the threads in them).
It's been suggested that an easy way to do it would be to set up a forum which is a link to a search which produces the desired results.
And so my question is about how to use search.php and therefore I hope you'll agree it's legitimate for vbulletin.com.
I've got as far as
http://www.avforums.com/forums/search.php?forumchoice[]=51&forumchoice[]=62&forumchoice[]=99
But I'm stuck on how to make search.php actually list all the threads.
Please help.

If you're actually modifying search.php and not simply using things it already does I believe it would have to be posted at vBulletin.org.

No I don't want to modify search.php, I want to know how I can use it as is to display all the threads from a group of forums. I.e. what query terms?
Is it possible?
