  • Multiple Forms/Search Engines in the NavBar

    Our forum is giving affiliate stores a-go, and since we have visitors from the US, Canada, and Europe, we'd like to be able to give them all a chance to participate. I also want to make the affiliates as unobtrusive as possible, so the drop-down menu looks to be our choice. Problem is, I haven't been able to get the drop-down menu function (like the search box) to work with just ONE of the affiliate search boxes. Here's the code for one of them, Amazon:

    Code:
    <form action="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/external-search">
    <table class="normal" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td style="background-color:#fff;">
    <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="top" height="90" width="120" style="border: 1px solid #000000 !important;">
    <tr>
    <td style="background-color:#fff;" height="20" valign="bottom" align="center">
    <span style="font-family: verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:10px !important; font-weight:bold !important;">Search Now:</span>
    </td>
    <td style="background-color:#fff;">
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td style="background-color:#fff;" align="center" height="30" valign="top">
    <input type="text" name="keyword" size="10" value="" />
    </td>
    <td style="background-color:#fff;" height="20" valign="top" align="left">
    <input type="hidden" name="mode" value="blended" />
    <input type="hidden" name="tag" value="gamingageforu-20" />
    <input type="image" width="21" height="21" border="0" value="Go" name="Submit" src="http://g-images.amazon.com/images/G/01/associates/build-links/ap-search-go-btn.gif" align="absmiddle" />
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2" style="background-color:#000;" height="40"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/gamingageforu-20"><img src="http://g-images.amazon.com/images/G/01/associates/build-links/ap-search-logo-126x32.gif" height="36" border="0" width="126" /></a></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </form>
    I've tried looking at other past examples, but the code embedding makes it rather difficult. To "work," the user gets redirected to a page with the actual product. I haven't gotten that to work yet.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,
    WK

      Perhaps this should have been in the vB Templates forum. Do you want me to move it?

        Go to:

        Admin CP --> Styles & Templates --> Style Manager --> « » --> Navigation / Breadcrumb Templates --> navbar

        Look for:

        HTML Code:
        <td id="navbar_search" class="vbmenu_control"><a href="search.php?$session[sessionurl]" accesskey="4">$vbphrase[search]</a> <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("navbar_search"); </script></td>
        Add after:

        HTML Code:
        <td id="amazon_navbar_search" class="vbmenu_control"><a href="#">Amazon Search</a> <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("amazon_navbar_search"); </script></td>
        Find:

        HTML Code:
        <!-- / header quick search form -->
        Add after:

        HTML Code:
        	<div class="vbmenu_popup" id="amazon_navbar_search_menu" style="display:none">
        		<form action="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/external-search">

          Thank you very much, it works well. Now, I am going to try to stack all the affiliate search boxes, hope I can figure it out...

          Best regards,
