How to stop pages from always refreshing?

    Hi,

For some reason, every page on my board always forces a refresh when navigating. If I go from page A to page B and then hit the back button, page A always refreshes. Then if I hit the forward button to go back to B, it refreshes always.

I can't figure out why this is the case. I'm running 3.0.5 (patched) -- any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Try turning off the no-cache headers sent by vBulletin:

Admin CP --> vBulletin Options --> Cookies and HTTP Header Options --> Add No-Cache HTTP Headers --> No

What browser are you using? If that option is turned off this shouldn't happen. My browser doesn't have this problem on any vB forum I go to, so it may be a browser issue.

            Help please! I'm stumped!

Okay... I'm still trying to figure this out, and totally drawing a blank.

It is affecting people who use Firefox, including myself. And yet it doesn't happen on some other vBulletin installs I visit.

Would someone be willing to look at a sample page and see if they have any ideas as to what might be causing this? The board is at http://www.curevents.com/vb/index.php?

Note that you will see some text ads running, but I have tried turning those off and it didn't make any difference.

            Thanks for any assistance.

I'm not to proud to beg.

              Thanks.

I don't have any problems with that page and FireFox. It works fine for me. Perhaps it's caused by an FF extension you installed.

I was always 'taught' back in vB2 days that you should never use the back button within the forum unless an error message asked you to.

                    Steve...

Are you saying you can go from one page to another on my board and if you hit the back-button the previous page comes back instantly without reloading?

                    Thanks.

If the No-Cache option didn't fix this then I suspect something in your browser settings.

Steve, I just asked the folks on my forum using Firefox and every single one of them said pages reload when I use the back button. I think perhaps you didn't understand what I meant.

For example, suppose you scroll to the bottom of a long thread. Then load a new page, and hit the back button. Does it reload the original page from the server and leave you at the top of the page? That's what we are seeing.

                        Thanks.

FireFox always has that issue with me. On any site. If you are half-way down a page, click a link to go to a another page, click back, it won't return you to the location on the page you were previously. IE does it fine.
