Primary, Additional Groups Attachments Box Size

I made a set of usergroups that have different max attachments space. For example, group X can have up to 400K in attachments while group Y can only have up to 200K in attachments.
I have made a set of promotions that will promote you to a usergroup with more attachment space once you hit a certain number of posts.
My problem is that my moderators don't seem to be getting the benefits of these promotions that everybody else is getting. The moderators seem to be sticking to the 'Moderator' group attachment space size rather than using group X space size according to their number of posts.
All my moderators do have the Moderators usergroup under their 'Additional' usergroup rather than their 'Primary' usergroup.
What do I need to do to fix this?
    Thanks.

In order for secondary group memberships to have any effect on permissions, the primary group in question must have this option enabled:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Allow Users to have Member Groups

    Check this.

Thanks, that helped me figure out what my mistake was.
At first, I made the usergroups X and Y as Primary usergroups when I really should've made them Additional.
The moderator usergroups were set as Additional.
All I have to do to fix it is switch them around and do as Jake Bunce suggested above and everything should be fine.
Please let me know if I missed something.

        That sounds right.

It all depends on how you want your groups setup. There are many ways to go about assigning permissions. But usually the default vB usergroups are used as primary groups.
