Revert to core code

Hello,

I am running 3.05 , which I upgraded to from 3.03. Had multiple hacks on 3.03.

I would like to reinstall VB from scratch, on 3.06, but go back to core code, without any of the hacks. If I do a new install, and restore the DB, lots of the hack code comes over. Is there a specific way to revert the DB back to base? The files are easy, you just upload the new ones.

Install clean, then use Impex to import the data from the old VB3 DB to the new VB3 DB.

Sounds simple enough - will it bring everthing over (permissions, etc) so that I won't have to redo any of the core settings?

It should import all current permissions, users, usergroups, forums.

Actually, It doesn't work for permissions at all. I search around, and others had the same issue. Was using impex to go from 3.05 to 3.06 with a reset to the DB. Worked, but lost ALL forum permisisons.

So I killed it, went back to my DB, did a compare, killed all extra fields in it, reverted all templates, removed all phrases, and i'm pretty much back to as core of a install as possible.

Impex does not appear however to work with vb to vb permissions. And I did run all of the counters and maintenance (before anyone asks )

The I would report this in the Bug Tracker. It should import permissions.
