  • Is There A Way To Make A Banner Open Up A New Page When Clicked?

    I searched around and got my banner up on my friends and I site. What im wondering is, can I make a banner open up a new browser when the banner is clicked? Right now, it just loads the link the current browser.

    This is the code I used to get my banner up. Thanks
    Code:
    [color=darkgreen]<div align="center">[/color]
    [color=darkgreen]<a href="[/color][url="http://scootech.e-butik.se/"][color=darkgreen]http://scootech.e-butik.se[/color][/url][color=darkgreen]" target="_blank">[/color]
    [color=darkgreen]<img src="[/color][url="http://www.scootech.nu/pr/toploggaforum1.gif"][color=darkgreen]http://www.scootech.nu/pr/toploggaforum1.gif[/color][/url][color=darkgreen]" [/color]
    [color=darkgreen]width="800" height="60" border="0" alt="To Webshop :)" /></a>[/color]
    [color=darkgreen]</div>

    [/color]

      It doesnt on Firefox, I will try it on InterNet Explorer, but it uses the same window in Firefox. Thanks

      *Edit* Opens up in the same window on IE too.

        target="_blank" is the correct code to make it open in a new window. If it doesn't then something else is wrong somewhere. (browser config or something maybe).

            1, popup blocker set on kill everything that moves mode
            2, you've set some sort of weird doctype where target doesnt exsist or _blank is not recogonized.

              How do I fix it, I dont have a popup blocker that I know of. Firefox blocks pop ups but it tells you when it does it. When you click a link on another forum it works perfect. Just my banner isnt.

                Banner at the top of the page.
                Viewing the source of that page, I see:

                HTML Code:
                <a href="http://www.tshirthell.com/store/clicks.php?partner=92GreenGT">
                <img src="http://www.fullthrottleforums.com/banner.gif"
                width="580" height="59" border="0" alt="To Webshop :)" /></a>
                </div>
                No target parameter.

                    You need to edit the code to include the target parameter, just like the first example you posted.

                      What exactly do I need to edit in the code? Sorry for my newbie status.

                        Change this:
                        HTML Code:
                        <a href="http://www.tshirthell.com/store/clicks.php?partner=92GreenGT">
                        <img src="http://www.fullthrottleforums.com/banner.gif"
                        width="580" height="59" border="0" alt="To Webshop :)" /></a>
                        </div>
                        To this:
                        HTML Code:
                        <a target="_blank" href="http://www.tshirthell.com/store/clicks.php?partner=92GreenGT">
                        <img src="http://www.fullthrottleforums.com/banner.gif"
                        width="580" height="59" border="0" alt="To Webshop :)" /></a>
                        </div>
