Site is slower since upgrading to vB3

I recently upgraded from vB2 to vB3 and ever since that, my forum loads a lot slower, especially in threads with attachments, something our site has a lot of.

Is there anything I can try to speed things up? I tried optimizing the attachment table but it almost killed the server.
