    Strange "speck" on forum

    Hello -

    I'm setting up my forum, and I'm getting a strange few pixel spec showing up. It only shows up on the forum homepage, and only once reg'd. I've attached an image that shows the spec - it's the black mark under the calendar link. I'm trying to figure out which template that would come from. I've looked at the forumhome template, and I don't see any errors that would cause that (although I'll admit I'm no expert). Also - I can't "select" the spec like i can select text on other parts of the page.

    Any ideas?

    Feel free to login if it may help...

    Thanks

    I just wanted to add that this seems to be a firefox only problem (so maybe not as big a deal). I only just realized that since I primarily use firefox. That said, it seems like a bug?

      You can do a right click and then "View Source" to see if that helps you locate the source of the problem.

        That's an extra "TR" somewhere I think....

            did you look at it in firefox? that's where i have the problem. and it's only where you're logged in. I went through the page source, and I didn't see anything there. I didn't see an extra <TR> as someone thought there may be, but then again, I could have missed it. Not sure how an error like that would cause this strange, few pixel graphical mark though....

            What's interesting is that the mark is not "selectable" as any extra text or HTML mistakes would be....

            I've attached the source file....

              Well, I looked at it in FF yesterday and the "speck" was there. Today it's gone.

                HTML Code:
                <table class="tborder" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
                <thead>

                 </thead>
                </table>
                That'd be it.

                    not sure what i'm supposed to change - on the forumhome template, the above is represented as:

                    <!-- main -->
                    <table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
                    <thead>

                    Anyway, I still have that spec - any additional info on what you see wrong would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

                      It looks like it's caused by a mistake to one of the template hacks that separates the categories. Did you apply such a template change or did someone else do it for you?

                        I did change the template - i added a "home" button to the navbar, following instructions on the vbadvanced site (so that my vbadv homepage has a forum link, and the forums have a home link).

                        I also made the change, found on this site, to add a space between the forum groups.

                        The only changes I made and pretty common. I guess I could revert and try to make the changes again...
