  • Show Forum Moderators: Usergroups

    Hello,

I don't wish to add moderators individually to each and every forum. What I enjoy doing is granting certain usergroups moderation rights to a given forum. It would be great if the moderating usergroup could be listed as a moderator on the appropriate forum pages, instead of just the individual assigned moderators.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=14

At the top of the page, look for announcements, and then look directly below that. You'll see "Moderator: Moderator Team"

    Now go here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumd...php?forumid=37
Look below the "Home | Register | Search | Help Desk | Rules" toolbar. Below the forum path (WebHostingTalk Forums > Main Forums > Programming Discussion) you'll see a "Moderated by" and a list of names following that.

Is there any way that I could configure vBulletin to accept usergroups as moderators instead of individual users? I understand the with the permission system it's easy to make a usergroup able to moderate a forum, but I want to be able to show which usergroups have the ability.

Look to the PHPBB example again for a less complicated description.

    Thanks much,
    Bruce

Not without modifing the code, however you can add moderators to the main categorys and they are inherited downwards.
