  • Make 'post=xxxx' appear in reply email URL?

I get emails of any new threads or replies. They always have a URL, but these URLs don't have the post= part in them. So instead of taking you to the new post, it only takes me to the top of the thread...and the 'view last post' link doesn't always show up.

How can I make it include not only the thread=xxxx, but also the post=xxxx in that URL in the new thread/reply emails. I see it working on other VB sites, and it used to work on mine before I went to 3.x. I'm sure I've done something wrong or missed something.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

    Thanks.

Mine always come in ending with:

        /forums/showthread.php?t=4001&goto=newpost

        For example.

Mine always look like the above. I think I'd prefer the post=xxx to the goto=newpost. Like I said, my 'view first unread' doesn't always work correctly. For instance a new post will be made, I'll get the email, click on the link, which takes me to the top of the thread and sometimes that 'view first unread' isn't there.

I run v3.0.3, no hacks or mods, only color/style changes. So there's nothing weird installed that might have messed with it.

That email comes from the moderator phrase. It is not a normal email that is sent with thread subscriptions.

This phrase does not include the link to the specific post by default. You can try editing that phrase to add this in.

I looked at the moderator phrase. What do I need to insert for the 'post=xxxx' portion. I couldn't find a complete list of the variables.

I'm not sure if this will work, but here is the appropriate section from the notify phrase:

                    $vboptions[bburl]/showthread.php?t=$threadinfo[threadid]&goto=newpost
