  • RetroFit of Avatars and Signatures etc.

I have noticed that while the Avatars and other Postbit info is being retrofitted (i.e. If I change my avatar than the new one appears on all of my posts not just the new ones I write) the signature does not seem to for some people. I have just sifted through my forum and some users have their signature on all of their posts while others don’t.

I recently changed my signature and all of my old posts are still displaying the old one.

Any thoughts as to why this might be happening?

That definitely shouldn't happen with the default vBulletin. Have you installed any hacks (including portals) or added any code to the footer, headinclude, header or phpinclude templates?

Umm, just one or two additions. I will sift through them and see if I can source the problem.

Do you mean the signature doesn't appear at all in your old posts? This is because the setting to display the signature is set to no by default and gets enabled when you set a signature. Which means that the old posts still have "show signatures" set to no.

A similar (though opposite) question-I just noticed that when you change your sig, all your old post's sigs change as well. Is there a way to change that? We have people using different sigs in different forums, etc on our current (not VB) board.

That works as designed. Sigs are always linked to the latest sig. Changing this requires modifying the code. You can try asking for help with this over at vbulletin.org.
