  • PHPadsnew, VB3 & Link Parsing

I have the code for my phpadsnew banners being called via a php include in my header template. This results in the banners showing ok on my forums, but when clicking on the banners the links are being altered from what they should be. My domain name is being removed from the link.

    So instead of

    Code:
    http://www.mydomain.com/phpadsnew/adclick.php?bannerid=7&..........
    I'm getting

    Code:
    http:///phpadsnew/adclick.php?bannerid=7&..........
The code I'm using works fine on all my non-forum pages and used to work fine with phpBB (I've just moved over to VB3). This leads me to conclude that VB3 is somehow parsing and altering the links being output on the page??

Any advice or assistance much appreciated......

You can't add phpcode like include(); in any vbulletin template. Add it to the phpinclude_start template and set the outcome of the code to a varaible. Then use that variable in the template.

Thanks but this is what I have done and I'm getting the results as listed above....

Maybe that gives some more insight?

Thanks - I've had a read of that but it doesn't really apply in my case. I'm not getting any errors as the ads are being delivered just fine, but the links that the banners point to are being altered on my VB3 pages only, the exact same include file works fine on all my non-forum pages.

I can get the links to work ok using other invocation methods but not using the php generated method which I do really need to use (non-php invocation methods do not support flash banners of which I have several)! This is very strange, I can see no other reason for the problem other than that the links are being altered somehow by VB3.
