You can:
- Ban a member by banning his account. He can't use that login anymore then.
- Ban an email address. The user can't register using that email address anymore then.
- Ban a host address. The user can't view the site using that IP address anymore then.
Gather all his accounts and find out which unique IP he has, which emails he uses and what usernames .. ban the paterns you find.

It's a specific IP address. The member was banned and just kept registering again with new names. Does a member ban ONLY ban the username?Leave a comment:

They're separate functions. The IP ban just bans the IP address (or range). If you want to ban a range, enter it as:
111.222.000 (leaving off the last dot and octet). IPs in the list are SPACE SEPARATED.Leave a comment:

vB banning feature not functional
For some reason the banning feature in the admincp is not working at all for me. I'm not getting any errors, but when I ban an IP, the member just turns around and registers a new account and he's back again using the exact same IP. My team and I have had to manually ban this one person 4 times under the SAME IP address. Doesn't the ban feature ban the IP, hostname, and email address? I thought it did, but it doesn't seem to work at all and it's really causing problems.Tags: None
