problems installing

I just ordered the forum...

I downloaded it and editted the config.php, but the file was all messed up no "line changes", so all the text was just in one line nearly..

After I edited it, i uploaded it all, and entered the url of install.php and I just got a white screen? What did I do wrong or?

Try loading config.php in wordpad or use ultraedit (trial version on their web site).
Don't use notepad or ms word.

i just tryed that, and uploaded the whole thing again, but I still get the white page in internet explorer with i type www.domain.com/forums/install/install.php

is it because I have to chmod some files or?

If you are getting white pages it is because

1. Your host does not XML Compiled with PHP
2. The files were not correctly transfered to your host and there is whitespace in a file like config.php
3. MySQL is not meeting the mininum requirements or is not running.
