    Members can join a public usergroup on my forums. But once they joined this they will have as Primary Group "members" and as secundary group "group x".

    But I want to promote every secondary member of "group x" tot a PRIMARY member of "group x"

    How can I do this?

    You specified the group to join itself which is not allowed

    Public joinable groups are always added as secondary groups. Changing this would require modifying the files.

    What is your reason for wanting to use the public group as a primary group? Maybe there is another option.

      When the members ar primary member of this group their status changes and they get a little icon beneith their name.

      When they are just sec. member their status will be their primary one, untill I change it manually.

        I have now 2 groups

        Group X
        Pre-selection Group X

        Pre-selection is a public joinable group. I let my members join it and it will be their secondary group.
        I have set the following promotion:
        Promotie soort Type of promotion that the user is to receive. Select 'Primary Usergroup' to change the user's main usergroup to this group or select 'Additional Usergroups' to add this group to the user's additional usergroups
        ==> Primary

        Verplaats gebruiker naar gebruikersgroep Jumping is evaluated based on the time period defined in the Scheduled Tasks section (Default: Every 1 Hour)
        ==> Group X

        But nothing happens?!

          When you are a member of multiple groups, you can choose with which group you want to identify in your:

          User CP -> Group Memberships

          When you identify with a group, you use its user title and username markup.

            You are a leader of the following groups
            User Group View Requests List Members
            Voorselectie Helper in training 0 List Members

            You are a member of the following groups
            User Group User Title Leave Group
            Administrators Administrator (Cannot leave primary group)
            Voorselectie Helper in training
            Helper in training (You are a leader of this group)

            ?? Where can I do this then ??

            But this maybe sounds nice but my members don't have to change stuff like this. I want it to be done automaticly. Not all my members will understand how to do and I want to help them .

              There should be a radio button next to each group that says, "Identify me as a member of this group".

              Also make sure the secondary group has this option enabled:

              Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Can override primary group title/markup

                  Note: Groups marked with a * can be selected by their members to override the username markup and user title from their primary usergroup.
                  And on witch group I have to set that?

                  So standard a user is member of "registerd users"
                  When they join they will be secondary member of group x

                      Ok, I've done that, that works fine.

                      And now what did you mean with that radio button? I has to be clear to the users that they have to click the button before they are indentief as member of that group.

                          I understand. But now they can tick the box and click the submit button.

                          What's the advance of an extra radio button?

                              Sorry my english is poor :$.

                              When my members want to be a member of group X they click the links/buttons and when I have validated them they are member.

                              You say "a radio button next to each group that says, "Identify me as a member of this group".".

                              But when they are member of group X (secondary, and primary of "registerd users") they already have the choise of selecting the group that is beeing showed (eg; when I am a member of group X (second.) and I go to the membership-page I can select which group has to be showed).

                              So that's the use of putting extra radio buttons overthere?

                              I prefer to change all the stuff automatic, causing my members less work. But when they must do it theirself it has to be that way..
