  • $show['popups'] what browsers are affected?

    I'm setting up my forums/site with a 2nd, main navbar for my main navigation.
    I see the forum navbar uses "$show['popups']" to present navbar items based on the visitors browser.

    My question is,

    On which browsers/operating systems do the popups not work?
    (So I can determine the % of users who won't be able to use the full functionality of my dropdowns)

    Thank you

    From ./global.php:
    PHP Code:
    // #############################################################################
    // turn off popups if they are not available to this browser
    if ($vboptions['usepopups'])
    {
     if ((
    is_browser('ie'5) AND !is_browser('mac')) OR is_browser('mozilla') OR is_browser('firebird') OR is_browser('opera'7) OR is_browser('webkit') OR is_browser('konqueror'3.2))
     {

    // use popups

    }
     else
     {

    // don't use popups

    $vboptions['usepopups'] = 0;
     }

    Not sure if this is the right code in regards to $show[popups]
    but I think older versions then those + mac won't show popups

      Not sure if I get that,

      So for the following browsers/os's the popup/cascading nav doesn't won't work?

      IE 5 and Older
      Any macs
      Any mozilla
      Any firebird
      Opera 7 and Older
      Any webkit
      Konqueror 3.2 and older

      Which would mean IE 6+,Firefox and Opera 8+ are the only major browsers it works on?

            Actually, the logic of the if statement says that if the browser is IE for the mac, then don't show the popups, but not all mac browsers. Most main-stream, modern mac browsers support the popup menus.
