Ignore posts from few forums completely ?

how to disable posts/threads from forums getting added to global total posts/threads ??

What i meant is:
I have a forum X, Y and Z
I do not want posts from forum Z to get added to my total forum threads and posts.

however posts from that forum should get added to search

I tried to search the how do i forums
found threads which had solutions like -> http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ble+post+count

But i do not want that solution, as posts/threads in those forums only dont add to users posts counts but still get added to total forums/posts counts.

I want to only disable total posts/threads from getting added via those forum.

I am afraid this would require modifying the source code.

The only option I know about is:
Admin Control Panel > Forums & Moderators > Forum Manager > Modify 1 forum > Count Posts Made in this Forum Towards User Post Counts > Yes/No.

If this is set to No, posts made in this forum will not be added to users' post counts (which are displayed on showthread).

But the what is going on box will still increase when a new post is made inside this forum, regardless of the yes/no.
