  • Set values for ALL users

    Dear readers,

I would like to know if it is possible to change for example the default editor for ALL users, even when they have set it to a different editor in their CP?
I want to set mailnotification on by default , but the old users which I imported with impex don't have any value set. So thats why I'm asking

    Thanks in advance

To set the defaults for new users:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Registration Options -> Default Registration Options

To reset options for existing users:

Admin CP -> Import & Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Automatic Query

Then choose the appropriate query and click on 'Continue'.

To run queries you first need to give yourself permission to run queries in the Admin CP. To do this, edit this section of config.php:

// ****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
// The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
// See the above entries for more information on the format.
// Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
// to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
    $canrunqueries = 'x';

...with x being your userid number (not username).

is there a list of automatic queries that can be run?

we just transfered an invision forum to vb and the conversion left some of the user defaults screwed up. is there a way to turn all existing users notification to instant email, reputation system on, show signatures, show avatars, show images, enable private messaging, receive email notification of new pm, show new pms in pop-up, i think that covers it...

again, this is for existing users, ive already changed everything for new applicants.

          thanks in advance!

You can see which queries are available here:

Admin CP -> Import & Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Automatic Query
