I backed up my database through cpanel, and uploaded it to my new host through cpanel as well........do you think it just went wrong?

I downloaded it from the cpanel back up thing......it turns into .gz, but Im downloading it through the vbulletin forums admin panel as we speak. Where do I upload this to specifically? I mean which directory so that vbulletin will actually use it?

If you have made a dump through the admin control panel of vBulletin, open the .sql dump and view if the last line is # vbulletin backup completed #
