I recently started receiving about 100 emails a minute for db errors and when i login to the php I have a corrupt attachment table that will not repair any help please.

What do you mean it will not repair? What are you doing exactly and what happens when you do it?

Also we need to see the real error message. Right-click on the error page and go to View/Source. Then copy-n-paste the error message here.

Error code 28: No space left on device

One or more partitions on your server is out of space or doesn't have enough space to complete this operation. Shutdown your forums and contact your host immediately. You or your host will need to find out which partition is low on space and free up some more space.

Note in order for repair to fix the table it first must make a backup of it. Therefore the server needs to have enough space (probably in it's tmp partition) to hold a backup of this table. In general the server needs to have 2.5 -3 times the amount of free space as the largest table. Obviously the larger the table, the more space required.

Does this mean all attachments are lost or is there still hope.

The are still there, just probably not the attachments that you tried to upload in recent posts that run into those errors.

Contact your host, get a higher quota and run optimize and repair on your tables. Then you can continue to post on your forum.

Close your forums until this is resolved to avoid more corruption and loss of new data.

Should I move the attachments out of the filesystem? Also is there any real advantage to upgrading to the latest version.

You'll need to fix the db corruption issue before you can do anything else.
